Event date: October 26, 2010 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Registration close: October 12, 2010

Passwords are omnipresent in today’s work with computers. Could we get rid of them? Despite severe known weaknesses and drawbacks, passwords are used by most web services in the Internet for authentication of their users. However, there are smart alternatives to password based authentication. The questions are: Who will do the first step? Which are the advantages and hidden problems of alternative authentication schemes? How secure are these schemes? How are such novel systems audited correctly?

Learn first hand from the experts, who use alternatives or extension systems to passwords. Get an overview of which alternatives to the password exist and how they work. The event features a rapid sequence of talks that demonstrate innovative authentication systems and presents some case studies. The audience will have the opportunity to get involved and ask questions. You’ll dive into a world where remembering dozens of passwords is the past. The event closes with a sponsored apéro.

The presentations are in English and German.
