Drive-by infections are a means of spreading malware that attacks the users simply through their surfing habits. Over the last year, the threat from drive-by infections has further increased. Chapter 10.2 of the current MELANI semi-annual report 2008/1 offers a detailed explanation of how an infection occurs using an anonymized Swiss example. The code analysis was carried out by Adrian Leuenberger.
