Compass hacks live at CeBIT

February 22, 2010;

Information by demonstration - this is the Compass philosophy. Thus companies learn about the so far unknown weapons of their opponents in a vivid, entertaining and memorable way in order to be able to defend themselves in future. The spectators experience live at CeBIT which threats result from the following technologies and how to protect themselves preventively.

Datacenter – the IT-core in the crosshairs
Error configurations, new attacking methods as well as the human factor play an essential role in Datacenter security. Despite all security measures it is often the ignorance of the users that facilitates the access for criminals. Whereas an adequate physical security is existent in most data processing centers, the digital security is still subject to common attacking vectors.

Mobile Security – put he spy in your pocket
ICT security must nowadays go far beyond the protection of the network. "The best security in the core of the enterprise is lead ad absurdum when the employees carry mobile bugs with them in the form of their iPhones, etc." says Marco Di Filippo. "ICT security threats are everywhere. The more complex and versatile the technologies, the higher the risks. Even a little technically adept person may for example detect the location of a mobile phone, wiretap text messages and eavesdrop calls.

The live hacks are addressed to CEOs, IT managers and interested persons who would like to get familiar with the approach of the attackers in order to protect themselves better. Prevention is better than cure.
