Compass invites to the Security Event 2010

June 7, 2010;

Guest speaker Nicolas Seriot is a software developer with the Swissquote Bank and acts as a scientific assistant at the Swiss Institute for Information and Communication Technology (HEIG-VD). In the frame of the "Compass Event" the Swiss security researcher explains how quickly any commercially available iPhone can be abused as a wiretap. Thus cyber criminals can spy out and pass on sensitive information of the user, such as contacts, passwords, etc., using specific iPhone-Apps.

Further dangers of mobile devices are examined carefully by Marco Di Filippo, Regional Director of Compass Security AG, in his speech "Mobile Security – Surveillance, Monitoring and Tracking". True to the motto "information by demonstration" the participants get to know more about the weapons of their enemies in order to protect themselves against attacks on their Smart-phones and Laptops in a preventive way.

Furthermore the Compass presenters will focus on the topics "Easy Login – Bypassing Same Origin Policy for Mash Ups" and "Safety gaps in .Net Security and ViewState". In addition, the participants hear how to gain admin rights on Windows platforms within five minutes. Of course, there is also room for networking as well as exchanging of experiences and know-how.
