Compass organises Swiss Cyber Storm 3

An event in two parts expects the participants, organised by the IT security service provider Compass Security AG (www.csnc.ch) and the HSR University of Applied Sciences Rapperswil. It will appeal to IT security responsible persons and CIOs as well as computer cracks. In the "Cyber Storm Briefings" security experts from Europe and the USA will present the latest research results. During the subsequent "Cyber Storm Wargames" participants may delve into the hacker world in a playful way and compete for a car valued CHF 30'000.

Compass Security AG will offer the visitors of the "Cyber Storm Briefings - Meet the Lead", on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 May, the opportunity to learn more about the current security threats and the methods used in practice to investigate in hacking cases. The internationally operating investigation teams will furthermore speak about the latest findings in criminal prosecution.

During the "Cyber Storm Wargames - Meet the Geek" on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May the campus of the HSR will convert into an interactive security lab. Based on the Compass Hacking-Lab infrastructure, various computer riddles are to be solved under conditions close to practice. These contain many cases from the fields of Unix, Windows, Network, Malware and Trojans, Web applications as well as Firewall. As White-Hat-Hackers students, IT specialists and future security experts will take on the role of the attacker and thus get to know their attacking strategies first-hand. The participants can also form teams in order to solve the tasks with concentrated know-how. The most successful hacker with the highest score will win the first prize - a car valued at CHF 30'000. For the participation in the "Car-Challenge" you need to qualify in advance.
